Colorado canine orthopedics was not recommended to me by my vet, but I stumbled upon their website during my frantic search for help, into what I thought was my 7 year old daschund/chihuahua luxating patellas. When I arrived for my appointment I was so worried because my vet quoted me over $5000 for the surgery and wanted to keep my Zoey for over 3 days after surgery! I knew I needed a second opinion, but didn't know what to expect!
After speaking with Dr. Bauer at length and receiving a quote that was almost 1/2 of what my vet quoted me, I knew I found the right place with a loving and knowledgeable staff! Dr. Bauer prepared me for all the possible problems that could be going on and unfortunately all of those bad things were what was going on :( I don't know what would have happened to my Zoey if she had been anywhere else because I know my general vet could not have repaired her femur, which was causing her luxating patella! I thank my lucky stars I found Dr. Bauer because he walked me through every step and didn't flinch when I broke down feeling overwhelmed by the weight of the decisions I had to make for what was best for my Zoey! She has to go back for another surgery, but I know that everything will be fine because Dr. Bauer will be the one taking care of her! I thank everyone who was involved in my Zoey's care! It has only been 10 days but she is trying to bounce around like her old self which lights up my world! Thank you so much for caring about others animals as if they are your own!! - Allison
